What do I need to bring?
You will need to bring your provisional driving licence (or full driving licence if you have one), appropriate clothing (long trousers, long sleeves, closed toe shoes – preferably boots), and gloves if you have them. We provide all helmets and high-vis jackets.
What happens if it rains?
We run training in all weather conditions except in cases of extreme weather (ice, snow, heavy rain, strong winds). We have waterproof clothing available if needed. Light rain is actually good practice as you need to learn to ride in all conditions.
How fit do I need to be?
You don’t need to be super fit, but you do need to be able to walk around for the day and lift/manoeuvre a motorcycle. If you have any concerns about your fitness or mobility, please discuss this with us when booking.
What if I fail my test?
Don’t worry – this happens to lots of people! We offer discounted rates for retests and will work with you to identify areas that need improvement. Most people pass on their second attempt.
Can I use my own motorcycle?
For training purposes, we prefer you to use our motorcycles as they are specifically set up for learning and we know they are in perfect working order. For your test, you must use our motorcycle unless you have your own legal, roadworthy, and appropriately sized bike.
How long does the course take?
A typical CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) takes a full day – usually 6-8 hours depending on your progress. DAS (Direct Access Scheme) courses are typically 3-5 days depending on your experience level. We’ll work at your pace to ensure you’re confident and safe.
